Detroit Lions Draft Notes: Mock Sends Josh Robinson to Motor City

With the calendar turning over to April, and the NFL Draft rapidly approaching, it’s time to take another look around the web to check out the latest buzz about the ’ No. 23 pick …

• Janoris Jenkins’ stock has been falling, based mostly on his off-the-field red flags. Citing those issues,’s Don Banks dropped Jenkins out of the first round in his latest mock draft. In Jenkins’ place, Banks picks Central Florida cornerback Josh Robinson at Detroit’s spot. Robinson has not found his way into Round 1 in most mock drafts, so the move up is a bit of a surprise. —

• SBNation, on the other hand, remains on the Jenkins bandwagon. Picking on behalf of the Lions, Pride of Detroit managing editor Sean Yuille nabbed Jenkins at No. 23, arguing that the team’s strong locker room presences on defense could help keep Jenkins in line. —

• Wes Bunting of National Football Post rolled out his Mock Draft 6.0 on Wednesday. He focused on the other side of the ball, sending Ohio State offensive lineman Mike Adams to Detroit. —

• Bleacher Report’s Nick Kostora predicted all seven of the Lions’ draft picks, starting with a selection of offensive lineman Cordy Glenn in the first round. Kostora also guessed that Detroit would snatch up Wisconsin QB Russell Wilson late. —

• And one last mock draft, this one from Windy City Gridiron. One of the blogs covering Detroit’s NFC North rivals, the Bears, WCG turned to the secondary and picked Boise State safety George Iloka for the Lions. —
