The Detroit Lions kicked off their weekend rookie minicamp on Friday, with new draft picks Riley Reiff, Bill Bentley and others taking part (while second-rounder Ryan Broyles watched, unable to participate as he rehabs a knee injury).
As you might expect, the first day of workouts was sloppy at best, with quarterbacks struggling to find a rhythm with their crop of receivers and running backs, and most of the day spent simply getting the players into a new routine.
Lions coach Jim Schwartz talked with the media after the practice wrapped up and said that you have to be careful jumping to any conclusions during this rookie-tryout weekend.
