Niklas Kronwall had just two goals in the Detroit Red Wings’ first 22 games, after setting a career high with 15 markers last season. So, he’ll take them any way he can get them.
That holds true for the Wings, too, who continue to find themselves in a fight to get in playoff positioning in the Western Conference. They picked up a big two points on Monday night by defeating the Colorado Avalanche, 2-1 at the Joe.
Johan Franzen opened the scoring with a breakaway goal and Jimmy Howard made huge save after huge save. But it was Kronwall’s fortunate goal that stood as the game-winner. The video:
