Moore was listed as the Lions’ third QB on their first unofficial depth chart of August, which will lead into the team’s exhibition opener against the New York Jets on Friday. Both Moore and Lewis probably will see plenty of snaps in that game, with Matthew Stafford’s playing time likely to be severely limited.
The Lions claimed Lewis off waivers from Cleveland back in May. Lewis’ lone regular-season appearance in the NFL came as a fill-ins starter for the Browns last year, against Pittsburgh. Lewis hit 22 of his 32 pass attempts for 204 yards, one touchdown and an interception.
Moore, meanwhile, spent the 2012 season behind both Stafford and Shaun Hill in Detroit. He was 41-of-78 for 434 yards, one TD and two interceptions during the preseason.
Neither QB has really separated himself from the other thus far in camp. Moore actually had a tough Sunday afternoon, firing multiple interceptions during 7-on-7 drills.
