This hopefully will not be one of the high points of Tom Gores’ reign as owner of the Detroit Pistons. But Gores decided to join in the celebration after Josh Smith’s last-second three-pointer handed the Pistons a preseason win over the Timberwolves.
Smith’s shot hit front iron, then flipped into the net as the clock hit zero, erasing a 98-96 deficit. As the Pistons’ benched poured out onto the court, Gores followed suit, even pushing rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope out of the way so he could deliver an awkward high-five to Smith.
