With the Detroit Red Wings battered by injuries and struggling to score goals, Mike Babcock has given sniper Tomas Tatar more opportunities in the lineup. Tatar repaid him on Wednesday, beating Roberto Luongo for the game-winning goal in a 2-1 Wings win at Vancouver.
Tatar’s goal came only a few moments after Daniel Alfredsson had tied the game. Tatar stopped just inside the Canucks’ blue line and wristed what seemed like a harmless shot at Luongo. But Vancouver’s veteran goalie could not handle it.
